Norwalk, CT. January 28, 2003. Global Gaming Expo (G2E), the premier trade show and conference organized by the American Gaming Association and Reed Exhibitions, today announces its final verified figures for the 2002 event. According to official numbers, a total of 13,652 people attended G2E 2002, with 11,071 people visiting 620 exhibitors and 2,581 attending conference sessions. Expomark, the exhibition-auditing unit of the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC), audited G2E 2002 numbers, verifying the show's attendance. G2E was held September 17-19, 2002, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. "As our industry's regulatory issues continue to evolve, as the number of gaming and entertainment facilities worldwide continues to grow, and as gaming technology continues to advance, the need for a forum like G2E for buying, education and overall gaming industry networking is critical," said Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., AGA president and CEO. "Attendance figures for G2E 2002 increased more than 50 percent over the previous year, a reflection of the overall health of gaming entertainment. More importantly, these numbers continued to include the quality of attendee so important to promoting long-term business growth." Added Lorenz Hassenstein, vice president for Reed Exhibitions: "Three words make a trade show a success: return on investment. The AGA and Reed are committed to delivering that return. Selling and buying at G2E is extremely active, and the exchange of ideas and best practices is boundless. We're pleased to have provided what has turned into one of the strongest business-to-business forums for both the gaming and trade show industries alike." The attendee profile included thousands of senior-level purchasing executives from the world's leading gaming companies, such as Ameristar Casinos, Inc.; Argosy Gaming Company; Aztar Corporation; Boyd Gaming Corporation; Coast Casinos; Foxwoods; Harrah's Entertainment, Inc.; Horseshoe Gaming; Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc.; Kerzner International Resorts, Inc.; MGM MIRAGE; Mohegan Sun, Park Place Entertainment Corporation; Penn National Gaming; Pinnacle Entertainment; and Station Casinos, Inc. "This show is successful because of the G2E organizers involving buyers and sellers, U.S. and international interests, and all parties involved in the gaming industry with the planning of the show," said Bruce Rowe, vice president, slot operations, research & development, at Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. "G2E is the place to network with the industry and have a chance to see, test and purchase the industry's leading products. For manufacturers and other exhibitors, the show has delivered on its promise to attract the purchasing decision makers. If you're only going to go to one industry show it would have to be G2E." G2E 2003 80% Sold Due to the success of the 2002 event, show organizers report show floor space for G2E 2003 is already 80% sold out, representing a 25% increase in space sold at this time last year. "Strong attendance, the quality of the conference, and new product availability clearly indicate the industry's satisfaction with and support of our event," adds Hassenstein. "We look forward to continuing to deliver a stellar event for the industry for the third year in a row."
