Mark Gruetze has covered Global Gaming Expo (G2E) for CDC Gaming Reports since 2017. For the longtime journalist from Pittsburgh, the event provides unique opportunities to hear executives and innovators talk about the gaming industry.
"I like hearing really smart people talk about issues, whether it's from a casino's point of view or a player's point of view," Gruetze says. "There are just so many experts there, and it's a good opportunity to talk and listen to them."
"G2E is the preeminent event for the global gaming industry, and I'm thrilled that it will be back to normal this year," said Joe Pappano, Co-CEO of Sightline Payments. "Digital payments in gaming have come a long way in the year since we last met, and I'm looking forward to participating in talking through some of the new innovations coming to market across the industry."
Pappano has spoken at past events and is speaking this year at the "Digital Payments Tech: What's Next" session on Tuesday, October 11.
CDC Gaming Reports will be on-site to provide extensive coverage of this panel and much more with its team of veteran gaming industry reporters at G2E, October 10-13, at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas.
"G2E provides a fantastic boost to our industry each year," said CDC Gaming Reports Publisher Cory Roberts, who has attended the event since 2017. "Along with the IGA tradeshow, it really dictates the heartbeat of the industry and our publication calendar. Each year we grow our presence at G2E yet get back more than we put into it. This year will be our first with a booth (#2613) and I'm excited to see everything come together."
Christopher Justice, president of Global Payments, a fintech company that provides payment technology and services, says he's looking forward to speaking on the panel “Moving Towards a Digital Payments Society” at this year's event to help operators understand how they can deliver seamless gaming experiences to patrons.
"Safe, secure, and advanced technology are what help redefine digital payments in the commercial gaming industry, whether patrons' game on mobile or in person," Justice says. "Implementing innovative technology is an effective way to enhance the patron experience."
CDC Gaming's on-site team will include publisher Cory Roberts; business manager Jeffrey Compton; advertising manager Jim McGlasson; contributing writers Buddy Frank, Mark Gruetze, David McKee, and Buck Wargo; and lead contributor Rege Behe.
"The information presented, the contacts you make at G2E, are invaluable," Rege Behe says. "It's one of the best organized events I've attended in nearly 30 years as a journalist."
