Bio: Tom Nelson served as the first Director of Licensing and Enforcement for the Michigan Gaming Control Board. In this capacity, Mr. Nelson was responsible for the development and implementation of many of the board’s programs, including establishment of the board’s gaming laboratory and related field inspection compliance program. Prior to joining the board, Mr. Nelson served for 22 years as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Michigan handling a variety of litigation at the state and federal trial and appellate levels. Mr. Nelson is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School. He was the first regulator to become a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law.
