GAMING ASSOCIATIONS SIGN ON AS OFFICIAL AMBASSADORS OF G2E
Groups Formally Endorse Show, Will Assist in Promoting G2E

LAS VEGAS—Global Gaming Expo (G2E) today announced that state gaming associations in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi and Missouri, as well as the Casino Association of South Africa, have signed on to be official ambassadors for G2E 2004, the international gaming industry’s premier trade show and conference.  As G2E ambassadors, the associations have officially endorsed the event, set for Oct. 5-7, 2004, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The six states participating in the G2E Ambassadors Program represent a total of 77 gaming properties, and South Africa’s relatively young industry boasts 31 casinos.  G2E ambassadors will work to promote G2E among their diverse memberships, broadening awareness of global gaming issues and encouraging attendance at G2E among gaming employees from outside the Las Vegas market.  The ambassadors will utilize diverse association-governed communication vehicles including information-share meetings, membership newsletters and direct mail campaigns, serving as partners on a variety of show and conference initiatives.

“The enthusiasm with which these organizations have embraced the Ambassador Program is a testament to the broad level of industry support we have achieved for G2E over the last four years,” said Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and chief executive officer of the American Gaming Association (AGA).  “G2E focuses on the issues that are important to all gaming operators, whether you’re working in Nevada, Iowa or another continent altogether.  G2E brings these wide-ranging interests and perspectives together to learn from each other, as well as to increase exposure to individual opportunities.  This formal endorsement by these gaming associations will help us attract an even more diverse group to benefit from this experience.”

Participants at G2E 2003 represented 49 U.S. states, along with the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, and 94 different international countries.

Additional state and international gaming associations may sign on to become G2E ambassadors.  To learn more, register for early bird and group discounts to G2E 2004, and to learn about the latest developments throughout the year, visit the Web site at www.globalgamingexpo.com

G2E is the international gaming trade show and conference “by the industry and for the industry.” Organized by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions, G2E made its debut in fall 2001, defining itself as the pre-eminent show for the gaming-entertainment industry.

The AGA represents the commercial casino-entertainment industry by addressing federal legislative and regulatory issues.  The association also serves as a clearinghouse for information, develops educational and advocacy programs, and provides leadership on industry-related issues of public concern.

Reed Exhibitions is a world leader in creating high profile, targeted industry events where buyers and suppliers come together to do business.  Every year, Reed events bring together some 160,000 suppliers and over nine million buyers from around the world.  Today, Reed events are held in 35 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia/Pacific, and are organized by 30 fully staffed offices.  Reed’s portfolio of 470 events services 49 industries in 12 key sectors.

“State and international gaming associations have always been strong advocates of the value of G2E for all members of the broader gaming community," said Courtney Muller, G2E show manager and vice president.  “The formalized support of these organizations as official ambassadors of G2E signifies an acknowledgement of the value of the product and educational resources at our event and will help us reach out to the many smaller operators across the country to take advantage of the one-of-a-kind opportunities presented at G2E.”
