Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Provides Support to Industry Campaign to Assist Victims of the September 11 Attack
“USA - UNITY SERVES ALL” to have presence at upcoming trade show and conference
Norwalk, CT—Global Gaming Expo (G2E) announced today that it is assisting “USA -- UNITY SERVES ALL,” an effort by the gaming-entertainment industry to provide assistance for the families of the thousands of victims of the Sept. 11 attack.
USA - UNITY SERVES ALL, an endeavor spearheaded by Global Payment Technologies, Inc. (GPT) in cooperation with other gaming equipment manufacturers and the American Red Cross, is raising donations from the companies, employees, and families associated with the gaming-entertainment industry. Donations made through USA-UNITY SERVES ALL will go to the American Red Cross Relief Fund. In the few days since it was created, - UNITY SERVES ALL has already collected more than $130,000 in contributions.
“We believe that every industry in America should take part in assisting the victims of this tragedy, including the gaming industry,” said Joni Foley, Marketing Specialist of GPT. “GPT is based in New York and feels it is a responsibility, as well as an honor, to initiate the USA - UNITY SERVES ALL campaign to bring the gaming industry together to make a difference.”
G2E, the first industry-hosted, international trade show and conference for the gaming-entertainment industry, has given USA - UNITY SERVES ALL its full support, including complimentary space on its exhibit floor, and will provide information about the effort to its attendees and exhibitors. G2E will be held Oct. 1-3, 2001, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, its host venue through 2020.
USA - UNITY SERVES ALL will be at booth 1156, centrally located on the G2E exhibit floor. A New York City firefighter who has been working at “Ground Zero” will be at the USA - UNITY SERVES ALL booth throughout the show to help further a cause that will assist the families of his fallen brothers and the victims of the tragedy. Representatives of the American Red Cross will also be present at the booth to collect donations and answer questions about the relief effort.
“All of us in the gaming industry are deeply saddened by the recent tragedy,” said Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the American Gaming Association (AGA). “We are proud to support - UNITY SERVES ALL and to do whatever we can as an industry to help those most affected by these horrible events.”
G2E is organized by the AGA in conjunction with Reed Exhibition Companies, the show’s management partner.
