Norwalk, CT—Reed Exhibitions, the world’s leading producer of business-to-business events, today confirmed the scheduled opening of major trade shows in Las Vegas, Chicago and New York. Assembly Technology Expo will take place October 2-4 in Rosemont, IL, just outside Chicago, and Infosecurity will be held at the Javits Convention Center in New YorkDecember 4-6. “Interest in Assembly Technology Expo and Infosecurity is high as these events will provide platforms of discussion for how manufacturing assembly and security measures will change in response to September 11,” said Richard White, President of Reed Exhibitions, North America. All of Reed’s six other remaining events for 2001 also are expected to run as planned.
“While we had to postpone or cancel a handful of events immediately following September 11, we are committed to doing everything possible to carry on with business, serve our customers and support the US economy. Our business partners across a wide range of industries are telling us that they want to do the same. For example, advance sales for two new shows in the spa and home furnishings industries, planned for early next year in New York, have been particularly strong in the last two weeks,” White said.
Global Gaming Expo (G2E), which will occupy about 300,000 square feet of sold-out exhibit space at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will be the largest of any gaming trade shows. Nearly 400 exhibitors will showcase their products and services to over 9,700 registered attendees from around the world. Official show sponsors are the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM), European Gaming Organization (EGO), Gaming Standards Association (GSA), Asociación Latinoamericana de Juegos de Azar (ALAJA) and the Australian Casino Association (ACA). The event is also supported by the National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA). The event is sponsored by ASSEMBLY Magazine and supported by Edison Welding Institute (EWI), Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), Association of International Motion Engineers (AIME) and Wiring Harness Manufacturers Association (AHMA). ATExpo is co-located with FIBEROPTIC Automation Expo Conference, designed to provide the optoelectronics industry with automation and assembly solutions, and the Surface Mount Technology Association International technical conference on electronic assembly and advanced packaging. Together these three events provide industry insight into the manufacturing assembly changes that will arise from the tragedy of September 11, including the lean manufacturing processes that will influence the future of airplane assembly.
